and pillows with white Egyptian cotton bed linen. Non-allergy
alternatives are available.
Steward House was once the home and surgery of Dr.
Smail, and his doctor father before him, who served the people of
Coquetdale during the late 19th c until 1985. Geographically it
was the largest practice in the British Isles and the stables housed
the horse and gig needed to reach the remote farms and cottages.
The walled garden, with productive fruit trees,
vegetable plot and herb gardens is available to guests, as are the
Summerhouse and barbeque area. Tables and chairs are placed in various
places to catch the sun at different times of the day or under trees
for shade. Paved dining areas; including a sunny breakfast area
outside the bedroom French doors.
Guests are welcome to help themselves to organically
grown herbs and salad crops; and raspberries when in season.
As a family of walkers, we have equipped the cottage
with maps, guide and local interest books, as well as, being able
to recommend routes for all level of walkers. Outside facilities
are available to wash boots, bikes and dogs. Overnight drying can
be arranged over the house Aga. Secure storage for your own bikes
available.

Off street parking available; but please note narrow
entrance.
One well-behaved dog permitted.
